Hi there! I am Gareth of Gareth Davies Photography, I am a “non-tea drinking” Englishman and have resided in Mexico since January 2010.

We are a small and enthusiastic photography team that comprises myself and a fantastic assistant. We offer various photography packages to facilitate Indian destination weddings, and can also design bespoke packages for those couples that would like something a little more exclusive.

What inspired you to start shooting weddings?

I started out in photography shooting commercial architecture and interiors, but yearned for something with more human interaction, wedding photography was the perfect fit! I never envisaged that I would enjoy wedding photography as much as I do. It has become a passion and profession. I thrive on the ability to establish wonderful connections with our brides and grooms, their families and I admire the values they hold close to them. Having the pleasure of being able to visually document raw moments and emotions that will last forever is priceless.

Gareth makes sure to capture the essence and soul of each event in an editorial manner that will leave you with lasting memories of what made every event unique and special.

Tell us something about your personal life that clients wouldn't find out from your Instagram page or wedding albums?

I have the most wonderful wife I could ask for. I grew up in Guernsey in the Channel Islands. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, and worked for many years in a multinational blue-chip company before taking a serious interest in my passion (photography). I have volunteered with several NGO´s in volatile communities in Mexico, Central America and South America…and I am an avid traveller

What makes an Indian wedding so unique to shoot for you?

I love Indian culture! I love the colors, the rituals, the traditions, and most of all the people! Indian people are the most warming, polite, fun, and the best dancers I have ever seen! I work now exclusively with South Asian couples and I embrace the culture, we even dress in kurta pajamas for the wedding. Not only does it allow us to better connect with couples and their guests, but as we reach to get the best shots up-close to the ceremony, we blend right in with your guests!

What is the best shooting experience you've had at a wedding? What made it special?

It’s an amalgamation of things, as Indian weddings are such an opulent show of magnificent colours, heartfelt emotions and spectacular traditions they share so genuinely with their family and friends that leave you in awe. Indian family values are so prominent and profound, you can really see the presence of such values at Indian weddings.

Our objective at any Indian Wedding is to take photos that not only ooze colourful vibe and creativity, but also visually convey the unity of 2 families, their diverse traditions, and the most beautiful, amorous, fun, intimate, tear-jerking, hilarious, moving, and stunning photo collection of your extraordinary Indian wedding celebration that is unique and one of a kind…just like both of you! :) We love to combine our creativity with an affable proactive client-oriented approach, boundless enthusiasm and of course…professionalism!

What should couples think about when hiring their wedding photographer?

The photography style, their professional experience with Indian Weddings, general know-how on how to deal with any situation that may arise and....of course, the chemistry between you both and the photographer! You´re going to be spending hours on end with your chosen photographer, so you´ll also want to make sure it is someone you can connect with.

Every wedding is so unique it is very difficult to define a particular wedding, that said, the couples we have had the pleasure of working with have treated us with utmost respect prior to, during and after their wedding that has converted into friendship.

What piece of advice would you give brides and grooms to ensure that they get wedding photos they love forever?

Just be yourselves, live the occasion as best you can with your now significant other, your family, and have fun…lots of fun! Authentic emotions result in authentic photographs, and a lot of those moments you will live with your family, and that is priceless.

What is the most unique photo you have ever taken?

It is hard to define. I am an absolute perfectionist, so no matter how much I like a photo, I am constantly criticising it to see how I could have improved it.

What is your favorite moment you like to capture?

I really enjoy the “getting ready”, the build-up of emotions and raw moments between the bride and/or groom and family members is fabulous! The Baraat is equally one of my favourite moments, the conglomeration of 2 families and beautiful cultures, peoples actions are so unpredictable but fascinating to capture.

Where is the best place for brides and grooms to see your work?

On my website or on my Instagram - a lot of our work has been featured all over the world including in Insider Magazine and other great wedding publications as well.
